All workshops are free, open to everyone and located across Libraries locations. Workshops with invited speakers or co-organized with outside institutions may be subject to registration fees. Non-UT affiliated persons can connect to our WiFi network through the UTGuest network or EduRoam.

Data & Donuts: Introduction to Data Visualization with Python will provide an introduction to the benefits of using Python for visualizing research data. Participants will have an opportunity for hands-on practice writing their own Python code to create reproducible workflows that generate high quality charts and graphs.

Join us Wednesday, February 4, from 11 am-12 pm for Exploring Sound and Music in Browser-based Code: Strudel and Tone.js!
This creative coding workshop introduces attendees to two JavaScript libraries for musical and sound synthesis in the browser: Strudel and Tone.js.
Strudel is a web-based live coding environment designed for music generation, while Tone.js is a Web Audio framework for creating interactive music experiences in the browser. Following an introductory talk, there will be practical demonstrations of each library, including sample code that participants can use as a foundation for their own creations.
Attendees of all technical experience levels are welcome! Registration is not required, although we would appreciate if you would submit this form to confirm your interest.

Digital Humanities Workshop: Introduction to Visualizing Humanities Data with Tableau will introduce attendees to using Tableau for data visualization, emphasizing digital humanities approaches. Specific Tableau functionalities, including dimensions and measures, data types, chart types, and more will be explored.
Attending this hybrid workshop will introduce students to the overall workflow of using Tableau Public, installed in the Data Lab. Example visualizations will highlight network analysis datasets. Prior knowledge of data visualization techniques is not required for this workshop.
