The Learning Commons, located on the entry level (2nd floor) of the Perry-Castañeda Library, features the Learning Labs, the Lebermann Media Lab and the University Writing Center. Visit for help with research and writing, to use specialized software for media projects, to attend a class or workshop, or to study collaboratively.
The feature wall in the Learning Commons, pictured above, is a reproduction from the Gloria Evangelina Anzaldúa Papers in the Benson Latin American Collection. We chose a piece about writing and revision to reflect one of the services in the Learning Commons. Anzaldúa was a queer Chicana theorist, feminist and creative writer from South Texas. Learning Labs
The Learning Labs are technology-rich active learning classrooms that are also available as collaborative study spaces outside of scheduled classes.
University Writing Center
The University Writing Center offers writing consultations to undergraduate and graduate students, workshops, writing groups, presentations to classes by faculty request and more.
Lebermann Media Lab
The Lebermann Media Lab provides hardware and software to create audio, video, still and 3D animation projects. Students, faculty and staff can use the equipment on a first-come, first-served basis.
