The University of Texas Libraries begin the new year looking forward with a gathering of experts and advocates to consider the future of libraries.
“Re-think it: Libraries for a New Age” is a national conference that brings together academic, public and K-12 librarians, administrators, technologists, architects, designers, furniture manufacturers and educators to collectively re-think the increasingly important role libraries play in the communities they serve.
The conference will feature speakers and open dialogue on a range of issues related to libraries including transformation of spaces, adoption of new technologies, organizational techniques and community support and engagement, and will feature leaders and innovators from institutions across the country.
The conference is being held at the University of Texas and other locations in Austin and Central Texas from January 8-10. In its second edition, Re-think it 2018 is co-hosted by the UT Libraries, the Austin Public Library and the Austin Community College Library Services, along with seven additional regional library partners.
The first edition of Re-think it: Libraries for a New Age was hosted by the University Library at Grand Valley State University in 2015.
